About Us

TexasLawHelp is a joint effort of legal aid, courts, and nonprofit organizations throughout Texas. It is completely free to use. You will never be charged for using any resources on this website.
A Brief History...
TexasLawHelp has been online since 2002. It is the statewide legal aid website for Texas.
It was started thanks to funds from a lawsuit brought by legal aid organizations in Texas, and funding from other sources such as the Legal Services Corporation. Since then, the website has been primarily supported by funds from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation.
All grantees of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation provide support to the website by drafting legal information, forms, or providing another form of support. Please click below to Learn More about Our Partners.
TexasLawHelp - Version 2.0
Thanks to a generous grant from the Texas Bar Foundation and more funding from Texas Access to Justice Commission and the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, the website has recently undergone a substantial redesign to ensure it is able to better serve Texans throughout the state.
The inspiration for the website design can be found in several websites, but in particular MichiganLegalHelp.org. The webesite design firm responsible for the programming and design of the website is LevelTen Interactive . Testing for the website was done on real potential users by Normal Modes and the Texas Tech Usability Research Lab.
